To get openssh to compile you need to update a \nbunch of other programs in the msys branch and I just lost interest in \ndoing so. More info can be found in the msysgit issue \"Upgrade SSH\" [1].\n\n> However, another option is to take a look at the new mingwGitDevEnv\n> project [1], which relies on mingw-get to retrieve binary packages. HPN-SSH\n> patches [2].\n\nAny idea as to when this mingwGitDevEnv project will be mature enough to \nuse as a replacement for msysgit? One of the reasons I gave up trying to \ntweak things to get openssh compiling was that this seemed like a much \nbetter idea. Though if it's fair off I might find time to give it \nanother shot.\n\n> [1] https://github.com/sschuberth/mingwGitDevEnv\n> [2] https://github.com/sschuberth/mingwGitDevEnv/pull/5\n\nIf someone is keen to try and update openssh in msysgit I'd be willing \nto share my hacks from a month ago which could be used as a starting \npoint. It was left nowhere near ready for a pull request, partially due \nto binary issues mentioned above, but at least it'll provide reasonable \nideas to a few of the things that need to happen.\n\n[1] https://github.com/msysgit/msysgit/issues/31\n\nPatrik\n"},{"id":"211472","messageId":"CAHGBnuMZj4LPywPxfOqcDSCAMg0hwNA_9NnZUQm6Znwz1-oU4A@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"33188","inReplyTo":"5144DAD7.50203@mail.pgornicz.com","subject":"Re: SSH version on Git 1.8.1.2 for Windows is outdated.","fromName":"Sebastian Schuberth","fromEmail":"sschuberth@gmail.com","sentAt":"2013-03-16T20:54:21Z","receivedAt":"2013-03-16T20:54:21Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"sschuberth@gmail.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/349154?v=4"},"body":"On Sat, Mar 16, 2013 at 9:49 PM, Patrik Gornicz\n<patrik-git@mail.pgornicz.com> wrote:\n\n> Any idea as to when this mingwGitDevEnv project will be mature enough to use\n> as a replacement for msysgit?
