Your client told the sever it has the\nLinux kernel shallow cloned, but its talking to a repository that\nhosts git.git. The remote server doesn't know these two SHA-1s\nmentioned on the shallow line, as they are from the Linux kernel\nrepository, so the server just hung up on you.\n\nBasically this is an unsupported use case. So in my real case it is probably because the different server I\nam pulling from are on different branches.... (for a shallow clone, it\nmay look the same with commits from different projects?...)\n\n>\n> Basically this is an unsupported use case. For the server,\nit shouldn't be much different from another shallow clone (although it\nwould be better if locally existing objects are not transferred.). But\nI am wondering what client side command/script do I need to use.\n\n\nTHX.\n"},{"id":"203676","messageId":"CAH5451mDb_rxT21sfQt3z15vQ7nKrp5NxwwbtpZHF-2WCOo1-w@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"32163","inReplyTo":"CAMvDr+QuMpfdTdkOMOiYyEnHvQjia2cDCt3sx2rQwwLcJiCVmw@mail.gmail.com","subject":"Re: Remote hung up during `git fetch`","fromName":"Andrew Ardill","fromEmail":"andrew.ardill@gmail.com","sentAt":"2012-11-22T23:21:35Z","receivedAt":"2012-11-22T23:21:35Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"andrew.ardill@gmail.com","avatar":"https://gravatar.com/avatar/da14cb7c091dd44dc6c63a4d3361b149acaf25226dc78eb4131a17b93d9b0993?d=mp&s=160"},"body":"On 23 November 2012 05:39, Yichao Yu <yyc1992@gmail.com> wrote:\n> Hi everyone,\n>\n> I sent this email yesterday to the git mailing list but I cannot find\n> it in any archive so I decide to send it again.\n> Does anyone know what has happened to the mailing list?
