I'm not sure if it's a\nbug or not. But it's really strange. Below are the steps to reproduce\nwhat I saw:\n\n1. $ git clone ssh://anonymous@firewall-sources.blackfin.uclinux.org:443/git/readonly-mirrors/toolchain.git\n\n   $ cd toolchain\n\n2. $ git status\n# On branch trunk\nnothing to commit, working directory clean\n\n3. $ rm -rf libusb/msvc/libusb.dsw\n\n4. $ git checkout libusb/msvc/libusb.dsw\n\n5. $ git status\n# On branch trunk\n# Changes not staged for commit:\n#   (use \"git add <file>...\" to update what will be committed)\n#   (use \"git checkout -- <file>...\" to discard changes in working directory)\n#\n#    modified:   libusb/msvc/libusb.dsw\n#\nno changes added to commit (use \"git add\" and/or \"git commit -a\")\n\n6. $ git reset --hard\n\n7. $ git status\n# On branch trunk\n# Changes not staged for commit:\n#   (use \"git add <file>...\" to update what will be committed)\n#   (use \"git checkout -- <file>...\" to discard changes in working directory)\n#\n#    modified:   libusb/msvc/libusb.dsw\n#\nno changes added to commit (use \"git add\" and/or \"git commit -a\")\n\n8. libusb.dsw is in DOS format. I changed CR-LF to CR-CR-LF in\nlibusb.dsw with a tool I modified from dos2unix.\n\n9. $ git status\n# On branch trunk\nnothing to commit, working directory clean\n\nI tested with git 1.7.10.4 from Debian and git 1.8.0 built by myself.\nBoth have same result.\n\nThank you.\n\nJie\n"}]}
