This was due to the way \"git\n   diff --no-index\" was incorrectly bolted on to the system, making\n   any comparison that involves a file \"-\" at the root level\n   incorrectly read from the standard input.\n\n * We did not have test to make sure \"git rebase\" without extra options\n   filters out an empty commit in the original history.\n\n * \"git fast-export\" produced an input stream for fast-import without\n   properly quoting pathnames when they contain SPs in them.\n\n * \"git checkout --detach\", when you are still on an unborn branch,\n   should be forbidden, but it wasn't.\n\n * Some implementations of Perl terminates \"lines\" with CRLF even when\n   the script is operating on just a sequence of bytes.  Make sure to\n   use \"$PERL_PATH\", the version of Perl the user told Git to use, in\n   our tests to avoid unnecessary breakages in tests.\n\nAlso contains minor typofixes and documentation updates.\n\n----------------------------------------------------------------\n\nChanges since v1.7.11.2 are as follows:\n\nAlex Riesen (1):\n      Restore umasks influence on the permissions of work tree created by clone\n\nChris Webb (2):\n      git-checkout: disallow --detach on unborn branch\n      Allow edit of empty message with commit --amend\n\nJay Soffian (1):\n      fast-export: quote paths with spaces\n\nJeff King (3):\n      push: don't guess at qualifying remote refs on deletion\n      add: create ADD_EDIT.patch with mode 0666\n      commit: fix \"--amend --only\" with no pathspec\n\nJunio C Hamano (10):\n      show: fix \"range implies walking\"\n      t/test-lib.sh: export PERL_PATH for use in scripts\n      tests: enclose $PERL_PATH in double quotes\n      t/README: add a bit more Don'ts\n      diff-index.c: do not pretend paths are pathspecs\n      diff-index.c: unify handling of command line paths\n      diff-index.c: \"git diff\" has no need to read blob from the standard input\n      rerere: make rr-cache fanout directory honor umask\n      cache_name_compare(): do not truncate while comparing paths\n      Git 1.7.11.3\n\nMartin von Zweigbergk (1):\n      add test case for rebase of empty commit\n\nThomas Rast (1):\n      Demonstrate git-show is broken with ranges\n\nVincent van Ravesteijn (1):\n      t: Replace 'perl' by $PERL_PATH\n"}]}
