Just\nlist the paths you want to add in a file and then:\n\n xargs git add <filename\n\nBut you only have to do this once, so I'm not really sure what that buys\nyou.\n\nYou can use glob patterns to select groups of files to add as well, if\nthere is some similarity in the pathnames.\n"},{"id":"195019","messageId":"5000640F.40609@blizzard.com","threadId":"31017","inReplyTo":"20120713152127.GC17521@phobos.chilli.itwm.local","subject":"Re: Don't share anything but those files","fromName":"Illia Bobyr","fromEmail":"ibobyr@blizzard.com","sentAt":"2012-07-13T18:08:15Z","receivedAt":"2012-07-13T18:08:15Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"ibobyr@blizzard.com","avatar":null},"body":"On 7/13/2012 8:21 AM, Edward Toroshchin wrote:\n> On Fri, Jul 13, 2012 at 10:59:55AM -0400, Yves Perron wrote:\n>> I'm wondering how to commit only selected files/folders on GIT, if even\n>> possible.\n> Just \"git add\" only the files you need.\n>\n> If you want git to ignore all the rest, you can write '*' in your\n> .gitignore\n\nAs an alternative, you may be able to use negative patterns in your \n.gitignore or other ignore files.
