At Hacker School they encourage\nus to contribute to open source software and projects were are\ninterested in. I'm in love with git, so naturally I want to contribute\nto you guys. Why git? Because it's an awesome tool that has many well\nthought out features that other source control tools lack like offline\nmode. I'd like to see more people using git, and I'd like to see it\nchosen as the source control tool used for team projects. So I was\nthinking about contributing the following (which are the reasons I've\nheard why people don't use git):\n\n1) Commands are cryptic: I was thinking I could provide a wrapper to\nsimplify the commands, for example to undo a local commit, I can\nintroduce a \"git undo commit\", that wraps \"reset\" and will undo the\nlast commit. Or maybe \"git rollback\" is a better name?\n\n2) git undo command, that will undo the last command (if possible)?\n\nOther ideas:\n\n3) Just like we have git-svn, maybe a svn-git?\n\nAny help or if you can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate\nit. I can also start out by fixing some bugs to get into it. I\ncouldn't figure out how to see a list of bugs though.\n\nHow does one contribute to your documentation? Would it be submitting\na patch just like with code?\n\nPlease let me know what you think!\n\nThanks,\nLeila\n"},{"id":"192886","messageId":"4FCDCB8B.4000103@schu.io","threadId":"30708","inReplyTo":"CAA3EhH+P_JeVGhRmL-kHOc0cTCiGQmv505XjgAv0kT1PAfjTyw@mail.gmail.com","subject":"Re: introduction","fromName":"Michael Schubert","fromEmail":"schu@schu.io","sentAt":"2012-06-05T09:04:11Z","receivedAt":"2012-06-05T09:04:11Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"schu@schu.io","avatar":null},"body":"On 06/04/2012 10:36 PM, Leila wrote:\n> 1) Commands are cryptic: I was thinking I could provide a wrapper to\n> simplify the commands, for example to undo a local commit, I can\n> introduce a \"git undo commit\", that wraps \"reset\" and will undo the\n> last commit.
