It also seems that git pack-refs wasn't running before \nwhen I was going push/pull.\n\nMy question: is it normal for git pack-refs to be triggered during a \npush for the first time at some point in time (because a threshold of \nsomething was exceeded), or is this an indication that something else \nmight be wrong?\n\nI can post more information if needed. The client is 1.7.0.4 on ubuntu, \nand the git on the server is the same too (I don't know how to see the \nthe \"git version of the remote repo\" - if there is such thing).\n\nRegards\nVangelis Katsikaros\n"},{"id":"192432","messageId":"7vvcje3h2g.fsf@alter.siamese.dyndns.org","threadId":"30646","inReplyTo":"4FC4A84B.3020404@yahoo.gr","subject":"Re: triggering pack-refs","fromName":"Junio C Hamano","fromEmail":"gitster@pobox.com","sentAt":"2012-05-29T19:47:35Z","receivedAt":"2012-05-29T19:47:35Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"gitster@pobox.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/54884?v=4"},"body":"Vangelis Katsikaros <ibob17@yahoo.gr> writes:\n\n> My question: is it normal for git pack-refs to be triggered during a\n> push for the first time at some point in time (because a threshold of\n> something was exceeded),\n\nYes, it is part of \"gc\" iirc.\n"}]}
