We should have created the commit without\n these paths.\n\n * \"git diff --stat\" said \"files\", \"insertions\", and \"deletions\" even\n when it is showing one \"file\", one \"insertion\" or one \"deletion\".\n\n * The output from \"git diff --stat\" for two paths that have the same\n amount of changes showed graph bars of different length due to the\n way we handled rounding errors.\n\n * \"git grep\" did not pay attention to -diff (hence -binary) attribute.\n\n * The transport programs (fetch, push, clone)ignored --no-progress\n and showed progress when sending their output to a terminal.\n\n * Sometimes error status detected by a check in an earlier phase of\n \"git receive-pack\" (the other end of \"git push\") was lost by later\n checks, resulting in false indication of success.\n\n * \"git rev-list --verify\" sometimes skipped verification depending on\n the phase of the moon, which dates back to 1.7.8.x series.\n\n * Search box in \"gitweb\" did not accept non-ASCII characters correctly.\n\n * Search interface of \"gitweb\" did not show multiple matches in the same file\n correctly.\n\nAlso contains minor fixes and documentation updates.\n\n----------------------------------------------------------------\n\nChanges since v1.7.9.1 are as follows:\n\nChristian Hammerl (1):\n completion: Allow dash as the first character for __git_ps1\n\nClemens Buchacher (4):\n git rev-list: fix invalid typecast\n push/fetch/clone --no-progress suppresses progress output\n t5541: check error message against the real
