Following this [1]\nguide, this is what I did/got:\n\n$ sudo adduser --system --shell /bin/sh --gecos 'git version control' --group --disabled-password --home /home/gitosis gitosis\nAdding system user `gitosis' (UID 119) ...\nAdding new group `gitosis' (GID 128) ...\nAdding new user `gitosis' (UID 119) with group `gitosis' ...\nCreating home directory `/home/gitosis' ...\n\n$ ssh-keygen -t rsa\nGenerating public/private rsa key pair.\nEnter file in which to save the key (/home/tim/.ssh/id_rsa): \nCreated directory '/home/tim/.ssh'.\nEnter passphrase (empty for no passphrase): \nEnter same passphrase again: \nYour identification has been saved in /home/tim/.ssh/id_rsa.\nYour public key has been saved in /home/tim/.ssh/id_rsa.pub.\nThe key fingerprint is:\nbb:04:a6:f0:68:e8:4f:89:0b:60:6e:35:5b:29:50:58 tim@overlord.imperial.fleet\n\n$ sudo -H -u gitosis gitosis-init < /home/tim/.ssh/id_rsa.pub \nInitialized empty Git repository in\n/home/gitosis/repositories/gitosis-admin.git/\nReinitialized existing Git repository in\n/home/gitosis/repositories/gitosis-admin.git/\n\n$ git clone gitosis@overlord.imperial.fleet:gitosis-admin\nCloning into gitosis-admin...\ngitosis@localhost's password: \n\nBut of course, it shouldn't be asking me for a password, and nothing I\ntype will work anyway, as it's a disabled password.\n\nI've tried it a few times, completely purging the gitosis user and its\nhome directory, but with the same results.  Has anybody had similar\nexperiences?  Or does somebody know some magic trick to get gitosis\nworking?
