Certainly this particular one is not a \"serious\" bug, but\nmerely a failure in tutorial documents at most.\n\nI am however worried about the rate we see minor regressions on 'master'\npost 1.7.5, which seems to suggest that people on this list are getting a\nbit complacent than they should be and perhaps not testing 'next' but are\non 'master'.\n\nThe promise of 'master' always being more stable than any released version\ndepends on competent testers and users using the 'next' version for their\nday to day work.\n\nThanks.\n"},{"id":"168647","messageId":"m37h9ezxst.fsf@localhost.localdomain","threadId":"27437","inReplyTo":"20110523212150.GF6281@sigill.intra.peff.net","subject":"Re: git issues/bugs - is there an alert process?","fromName":"Jakub Narebski","fromEmail":"jnareb@gmail.com","sentAt":"2011-05-25T13:59:51Z","receivedAt":"2011-05-25T13:59:51Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"jnareb@gmail.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/2706?v=4"},"body":"Jeff King <peff@peff.net> writes:\n\n> On Mon, May 23, 2011 at 10:44:13AM -0700, funeeldy wrote:\n> \n> > Is there any way for me to sign up to get alerts for serious bugs discovered\n> > in a version of git?\n> \n> You can read the release notes; minor versions are always bugfix\n> releases, and important bugfixes are backported to them.
