Why do you have that output in your editor in\nthe first place?\n\nEven if the reason you have that output in your editor were sane, do you\nmean to say that _all_ messages we output from our program, not just \"git\nsvn\", need to be cleansed of contractions? It uses the cat\n<< EOF trick/method so there is a stray quotation mark and the editor\nthinks that's the start of a string, so half the file is green or red\nor whatever color your strings are.\n\nI'll mention this more explicitly in the commit log, as it looks like\nit's not clear enough.\n\n cmn\n"},{"id":"166776","messageId":"7v4o5gwx0o.fsf@alter.siamese.dyndns.org","threadId":"27217","inReplyTo":"20110429205130.GA2727@bee.lab.cmartin.tk","subject":"Re: [PATCH RESEND] git-svn: don't confuse editors with an apostrophe","fromName":"Junio C Hamano","fromEmail":"gitster@pobox.com","sentAt":"2011-04-29T21:47:03Z","receivedAt":"2011-04-29T21:47:03Z","isPatch":true,"sender":{"key":"gitster@pobox.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/54884?v=4"},"body":"Carlos Martín Nieto <cmn@elego.de> writes:\n\n> It's not the output of the tool, it's the perl script.
