[ -d ][ -dd ][ -D ][ -DD ]\n             [ -e ][ -i ][ -k ][ -n ][ -p ][ -P ][ -q ][ -r ][ -s ][ -S ][ -t ]\n             [ -u ][ -w ][ -V ][ target... ][ macro=value... ][ \"macro +=value\"... ]\nmake: Fatal error: Unknown option `-C'\nmake: *** [perl/perl.mak] Error 1\n\n\nSystem:\tSunOS 5.10 i386\ngit:\tgit-1.7.4.1.tar.gz\nMake:\tGNU Make 3.82 (locally installed)\n\nIt seems that the building process invokes (the system wide installed) SunOS\nmake instead of the local GNU Make, since GNU Make does not display this error\nmessage.
