Could somebody give me a hint (or point to the appropriate \ndocument) as of how to make it work?\n\nIn more details, what I need:\n\nWhen one of our developers does commit/push his work to the \nserver/repository, I need the files to be automatically copied/updated \nto a plain local folder (something like file://var/www/), so they are \nviewable through a web browser. Most of those files are php. I don't \nneed an additional repository accessible with WebDAV, HTTP, or something \nalike. Just a copy of the working files, viewable if someone opens a \nbrowser and types the URL of our server.\n\nI did configure a \"remote\" server pointing to that folder (using  git \nremote add test file:///var/www/), and 'git fetch test' does give me the \nfollowing output:\n From file:///var/www\n    203a9c7..b47fab5  master     -> test/master\n\nSo probably it´s working correctly. But a \"git remote push\" is not \nupdating that folder. Also, I believe that probably I'm supposed to use \na hook (probably post-update), but can't find out what exactly I should \nadd in there. Would appreciate any ideas here.\n\nNote: I'm using Debian 5.0-64bits, git 1.5.6.5 (from the apt repository).\n\nThanks,\n\nRoberto\n\n-- \n   -----------------------------------------------------\n                 Marcos Roberto Greiner\n\n    Os otimistas acham que estamos no melhor dos mundos\n     Os pessimistas tem medo de que isto seja verdade\n                                   James Branch Cabell\n   -----------------------------------------------------\n"},{"id":"160618","messageId":"AANLkTimmpKjoNR7X6ChpRMf1rsWGAkMcHOt21Q-AybNE@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"26438","inReplyTo":"4D503E0D.5050105@gmail.com","subject":"Re: Local copy of the repository files","fromName":"Conrad Irwin","fromEmail":"conrad.irwin@gmail.com","sentAt":"2011-02-07T19:22:38Z","receivedAt":"2011-02-07T19:22:38Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"conrad.irwin@gmail.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/94272?v=4"},"body":"On 7 February 2011 10:46, Roberto <mrgreiner@gmail.com> wrote:\n> Hi,\n>\n> I'm trying to make my git repository automatically make a local copy o f the\n> repository files, but the appropriate command (or commands) is eluding me.\n> Could somebody give me a hint (or point to the appropriate document) as of\n> how to make it work?\n\nThere's a reasonably succinct guide to setting this up at\nhttp://toroid.org/ams/git-website-howto\n\nConrad\n"}]}
