Set up your symlink to those files in their own git\n repository.\n\nDepending on your proposed workflow (e.g. do you want to perform many\ngit operations such as commit, push, pull, tag, branch, etc) on the\npublic and private repositories at the same time even if they go\ndifferent places, a multi-repository management system like gitslave\n(http://gitslave.sf.net) might work for you. If you do not plan to\nbranch/tag your private repository along with the public repository or\ndo not have an \"upstream\" for your private repository, the symlink\napproach is probably the best.\n\nIn either case, remember .git/info/exclude and git-config's\ncore.excludesfile for a way to privately ignore the symlink or\ngitslave files.\n\n\t\t\t\t\t-Seth Robertson\n"},{"id":"293749","messageId":"AANLkTinVcHK_qwqcPCecHuWXGsVdGhmy+6+eLOW1bLWQ@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"25547","inReplyTo":"201010252043.o9PKhN6I024622@no.baka.org","subject":"Re: Are \"private blobs/trees\" possible?","fromName":"Kynn Jones","fromEmail":"kynnjo@gmail.com","sentAt":"2010-10-26T16:56:07Z","receivedAt":"2010-10-26T16:56:07Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"kynnjo@gmail.com","avatar":null},"body":"Actually, it occurred to me after posting that the symlinking is not\nnecessary.
