By convention on this\nlist replies are sent to the originator _and_ the mailing list (and\nquite often a few people that may provide a better answer to the\nquestions being asked).\n\nAs for searching I sometimes find using google's\nsite:http://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.version-control.git yields better\nresults than the gmane's own search (also I'm familiar with how to tell\ngoogle to ignore a particular word which can help weed out unwanted\nresults).\n"},{"id":"153285","messageId":"m3sk0cdzkn.fsf@localhost.localdomain","threadId":"25422","inReplyTo":"loom.20101012T012512-764@post.gmane.org","subject":"Re: OT: This forum","fromName":"Jakub Narebski","fromEmail":"jnareb@gmail.com","sentAt":"2010-10-12T00:29:04Z","receivedAt":"2010-10-12T00:29:04Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"jnareb@gmail.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/2706?v=4"},"body":"Maaartin <grajcar1@seznam.cz> writes:\n\n> I read this forum using\n> http://post.gmane.org/post.php?group=gmane.comp.version-control.git\n> and it sort of works. However, I'd like to \n> avoid getting daily dozens of emails.\n\nI personally read git mailing list (and reply) using GMane's NNTP\ninterface.  \n\nYou can read postings using any Usenet news reader, for example Gnus\nfrom GNU Emacs / XEmacs, or KNode from Kontact, ory any mail client\nsupporting Usenet, using news.gmane.org as server, and subscribing to\ngmane.comp.version-control.git (it is described on Gmane).  Those news\nreaders usually support threading.\n\nBut please remember to reply via email, and rather not cut Cc list.\n-- \nJakub Narebski\nPoland\nShadeHawk on #git\n"},{"id":"153403","messageId":"i94g34$4kt$1@dough.gmane.org","threadId":"25422","inReplyTo":"loom.20101012T012512-764@post.gmane.org","subject":"Re: OT: This forum","fromName":"Scott R. Works great in \nThunderbird; there's also knode or pan depending on your IDE-du-jour, \nand if you prefer a console-based one there's always slrn (or even tin).\n\nOpera also has a built in newsreader.\n\n\n-- \n(please respond to the list as opposed to my email box directly,\nunless you are supplying private information you don't want public\non the list)\n"}]}
