To access your files in the repository, you want to create a non-bare (normal) clone.\n\ngit clone path-to-git-repo\n\nOn a side note, git can clone over ssh, so you don't need to use scp to copy a project over the network. If your intent is to create a clone of a remote project on your computer, then cloning over ssh generally takes fewer commands than doing the copy manually first.\n\n~ Andrew Keller\n"},{"id":"151035","messageId":"1284943806785-5548842.post@n2.nabble.com","threadId":"25158","inReplyTo":"04E0C626-C16F-43A9-9AB7-41760B682F13@kellerfarm.com","subject":"Re: Newbie question","fromName":"kinley","fromEmail":"arjuncode@gmail.com","sentAt":"2010-09-20T00:50:06Z","receivedAt":"2010-09-20T00:50:06Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"arjuncode@gmail.com","avatar":null},"body":"\nThanks for your help.\n\nActually now I tried doing this\n\ngit clone ssh://user@host/~/GPUProject/Histogram\n\nbut getting\n\nbash: git-upload-pack: command not found\nfatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly\n\nI tried several ways of specifying the path of the URL assuming that this\ncould be a path issue but every time it gives the same error.\n\nThanks once again.\n-- \nView this message in context: http://git.661346.n2.nabble.com/Newbie-question-tp5548737p5548842.html\nSent from the git mailing list archive at Nabble.com.\n"},{"id":"151040","messageId":"AANLkTi=GV2WKKBS=_oCO6qyusyXFxj_Gp5LWuPV6yeOj@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"25158","inReplyTo":"1284943806785-5548842.post@n2.nabble.com","subject":"Re: Newbie question","fromName":"Imran M Yousuf","fromEmail":"imyousuf@gmail.com","sentAt":"2010-09-20T01:47:33Z","receivedAt":"2010-09-20T01:47:33Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"imyousuf@gmail.com","avatar":"https://gravatar.com/avatar/fda3c870262849d03c7b9c4d288842e128d6d80769fa7bc2d22731b7597928be?d=mp&s=160"},"body":"Try:\ngit clone user@host:/home/user/GPUProject/Histogram/.git/\n\nI added .git assuming that, that is the folder to which you gave the\nls output in your first email, the path should be upto that folder.\n\nOn Mon, Sep 20, 2010 at 6:50 AM, kinley <arjuncode@gmail.com> wrote:\n>\n> Thanks for your help.\n>\n> Actually now I tried doing this\n>\n> git clone ssh://user@host/~/GPUProject/Histogram\n>\n> but getting\n>\n> bash: git-upload-pack: command not found\n> fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly\n>\n> I tried several ways of specifying the path of the URL assuming that this\n> could be a path issue but every time it gives the same error.\n>\n> Thanks once again.\n> --\n> View this message in context: http://git.661346.n2.nabble.com/Newbie-question-tp5548737p5548842.html\n> Sent from the git mailing list archive at Nabble.com.\n> --\n> To unsubscribe from this list: send the line \"unsubscribe git\" in\n> the body of a message to majordomo@vger.kernel.org\n> More majordomo info at  http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html\n>\n\n\n\n-- \nImran M Yousuf\nEntrepreneur & CEO\nSmart IT Engineering Ltd.\nDhaka, Bangladesh\nTwitter: @imyousuf - http://twitter.com/imyousuf\nBlog: http://imyousuf-tech.blogs.smartitengineering.com/\nMobile: +880-1711402557\n"},{"id":"151047","messageId":"F47832A2-C25F-470A-81DE-9670F13DD4C2@sb.org","threadId":"25158","inReplyTo":"1284943806785-5548842.post@n2.nabble.com","subject":"Re: Newbie question","fromName":"Kevin Ballard","fromEmail":"kevin@sb.org","sentAt":"2010-09-20T06:55:43Z","receivedAt":"2010-09-20T06:55:43Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"kevin@sb.org","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/714?v=4"},"body":"It sounds like git-upload-pack is not in the PATH of your non-interactive shell.
