I wonder if I might ask you if you have an\n\"updated\" version of git-vcs-p4? Or otherwise, if anyone can hold my\nhand while I try to implement what I need... :)\n\nI'm having trouble getting exporting to work. Looking at the C code, I\nquickly realize that there's _much_ I don't know anything about, but\nit seems to me that vcs-p4.c needs to support the \"refspec \"\ncapability. Am I on the right track?\n\nMy reasoning so far: the version of vcs-p4.c that I have, contained a\nprefixcmp for \"export \". This made \"git push\" barf with the current\nversion of transport-helper.c, so I did something like this:\n\ndiff --git a/vcs-p4/vcs-p4.c b/vcs-p4/vcs-p4.c\nindex a4613a6..29d761b 100644\n--- a/vcs-p4/vcs-p4.c\n+++ b/vcs-p4/vcs-p4.c\n@@ -1213,7 +1213,18 @@ int main(int argc, const char **argv)\n }\n printf(\"\\n\");\n fflush(stdout);\n- } else if (!prefixcmp(buf.buf, \"export \")) {\n+ } else if (!strcmp(buf.buf, \"export\")) {\n+ printf(\"\\n\"); // no export-marks file\n+ printf(\"\\n\"); // no import-marks file either\n+ fflush(stdout);\n\n\nThis got me one step further, but it now produces an empty argument\nlist to fast-export (in the transport-helper function\npush_refs_with_export), because the data->refspecs is NULL. It seems\nto get set in get_helper when it encounters the \"refspec \" cap (which\nvcs-p4 does not support).\n\nSo - is this \"refspec \" thingy what needs to be implemented, or am I\nlost in space here? :)\n\n-Tor Arvid-\n"},{"id":"150614","messageId":"AANLkTi=x7T+VgnC0s7L+un5UORc2LwisSF-EPrh8RAE0@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"25090","inReplyTo":"AANLkTi=okJRFeBhbURB8Ez4Vb65fNdacKeko+4sx9ihy@mail.gmail.com","subject":"Re: Is there an updated version of git-vcs-p4?","fromName":"Sverre Rabbelier","fromEmail":"srabbelier@gmail.com","sentAt":"2010-09-13T18:53:05Z","receivedAt":"2010-09-13T18:53:05Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"srabbelier@gmail.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/3098?v=4"},"body":"Heya,\n\nOn Mon, Sep 13, 2010 at 11:04, Tor Arvid Lund <torarvid@gmail.com> wrote:\n> I'm having trouble getting exporting to work. Yeah, well I'm interested in getting it to work, and I'm happy to\ndo smallish patches and testing. But my C knowledge is basic'ish (as\nin - used it a bit at school, almost never after that), and my\nknowledge of the git core code is almost non-existant :-/\n\nBut shoot away, and I'll try and see if I get a feel for it :)\n\nI'll hang out at #git-devel (as torarvid).\n\nSee you there :)\n\n-Tor Arvid-\n"},{"id":"150631","messageId":"alpine.LNX.2.00.1009131625450.14365@iabervon.org","threadId":"25090","inReplyTo":"AANLkTi=okJRFeBhbURB8Ez4Vb65fNdacKeko+4sx9ihy@mail.gmail.com","subject":"Re: Is there an updated version of git-vcs-p4?","fromName":"Daniel Barkalow","fromEmail":"barkalow@iabervon.org","sentAt":"2010-09-13T21:24:55Z","receivedAt":"2010-09-13T21:24:55Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"barkalow@iabervon.org","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/55364219?v=4"},"body":"On Mon, 13 Sep 2010, Tor Arvid Lund wrote:\n\n> Hello, Daniel (and list).
