(see FAQs \nhttps://github.com/git-for-windows/git/wiki/FAQ)\n\nIt won't solve the capitalisation problem - that is a Windows FS issue. Git \nassumes case matters, but the FS will fetch directories and branches case \ninsensitively.\n\nPhilip\n\n\n----- Original Message ----- \nFrom: \"Frank Li\" <lznuaa@gmail.com>\nTo: \"Git List\" <git@vger.kernel.org>; \"msysGit\" <msysgit@googlegroups.com>\nSent: Monday, August 09, 2010 5:22 AM\nSubject: [msysGit] Possible git status problem at case insensitive file \nsystem\n\n\n> All:\n>        I use msysgit 1.7.0.2 at windows xp.\n>        Problem: git status will list tracked directory as untracked dir.\n>        Duplicate:\n>        1. mkdir test, cd test\n>        2. git init-db\n>        3. mkdir d, cd d\n>        4. touch a.c\n>        5. git add a.c\n>        6. git commit -a -m \"test\"\n>        7. cd ..\n>        8.  mv d d1\n>        9.  mv d1 D\n>       10. git status\n>\n>\n> # On branch master\n> # Untracked files:\n> #   (use \"git add <file>...\" to include in what will be committed)\n> #\n> #       D/\n> nothing added to commit but untracked files present (use \"git add\" to \n> track)\n>\n>        D/ should be same as d/ at case insensitive file system.\n>        D/ should not listed by git status.\n>\n> best regards\n> Frank Li\n> --\n> To unsubscribe from this list: send the line \"unsubscribe git\" in\n> the body of a message to majordomo@vger.kernel.org\n> More majordomo info at  http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html\n>\n> -- \n> -- \n> *** Please reply-to-all at all times ***\n> *** (do not pretend to know who is subscribed and who is not) ***\n> *** Please avoid top-posting. ***\n> The msysGit Wiki is here: https://github.com/msysgit/msysgit/wiki - Github \n> accounts are free.\n>\n> You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google\n> Groups \"msysGit\" group.\n> To post to this group, send email to msysgit@googlegroups.com\n> To unsubscribe from this group, send email to\n> msysgit+unsubscribe@googlegroups.com\n> For more options, and view previous threads, visit this group at\n> http://groups.google.com/group/msysgit?hl=en_US?hl=en\n>\n> --- \n> You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups \n> \"Git for Windows\" group.\n> To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an \n> email to msysgit+unsubscribe@googlegroups.com.\n> For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout.\n> \n\n"}]}
