I cloned\ngit.git and before starting the actual i built it and ran `make test',\njust in case, and some tests failed.\n\nI am doing this on XP/Cygwin. Some of them may be irrelevant for\nCygwin; if so, they probably should be skipped. The 'init notices EPERM' test at\nleast seems to have failed due to that.\n\nI have a pending patch series (on list) to make the test suite not\nfail when you run it as the root user.\n\nIt looks like you running them as the superuser might not explain all\nof them though, but I didn't go through them all in detail, and I\ndon't have a cygwin system.\n\nIt also helps you run the failing tests like this:\n\n    ./failing-test.sh --verbose --debug\n\nAnd provide the full output from that. But we don't have a lot of\npeople using Windows here, so stuff like this might be broken.\n\nThe Windows builds of Git use MINGW now that I can tell, not Cygwin,\nso Cygwin might break in some ways that MINGW doesn't.\n\nAnyway, un-breaking it would be nice.\n"}]}
