If you do:\n\n git tag -s mytag\n git push origin master\n\nYou don't expect origin to contain 'mytag' just because you pushed 'master'.\n\n> I hope the 'git bundle' includes all the tags when I use 'master'\n> or 'HEAD'.\n>\n> Well, I could use v1.7.1..v1.7.2.  But want to use simple script like:\n>    $ git bundle create ~/git.bundle lastbundle..master\n>    $ git tag -f lastbundle master\n\nThat kind of magic would require 'git bundle' to look at all your tags\nand see which ones lie in the range lastbundle..master. And even that\nisn't perfect, since you might have added a new tag that points before\nlastbundle but was added *after* lastbundle. So every bundle you\ncreated would need to include *all* your previous tags.\n\nNevertheless, if you wanted to create a bundle that includes *all*\nyour tags, but not any of the objects leading up to lastbundle, this\nworks:\n\n git bundle create ~/git.bundle --tags lastbundle..master\n\nNote however that it will include tags even if they *aren't* part of\nmaster. That is, if you have tags pointing at branch 'next', all the\nobjects for those tags will *also* be included.\n\nHave fun,\n\nAvery\n"},{"id":"146350","messageId":"4C4D387C.8040200@gmail.com","threadId":"24521","inReplyTo":"AANLkTincXfdZehvVjVjtfvbuM-Jim5Tvtm9Yy=s8-fMR@mail.gmail.com","subject":"Re: git bundle bug?","fromName":"SungHyun Nam","fromEmail":"goweol@gmail.com","sentAt":"2010-07-26T07:25:48Z","receivedAt":"2010-07-26T07:25:48Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"goweol@gmail.com","avatar":null},"body":"Avery Pennarun wrote:\n> On Mon, Jul 26, 2010 at 2:45 AM, SungHyun Nam<goweol@gmail.com> wrote:\n>> In a current 'git' source tree, next command does not includes\n>> refs/tags/v1.7.2.\n>> $ git bundle create ~/git.bundle v1.7.1..master\n>>\n>> After applying the git.bundle, now 'git version' does not\n>> show 1.7.2, but...\n>> $ git version\n>> git version 1.7.1.772.g64fdc\n>\n> 'git bundle' only includes the tags that you specifically tell it to.\n> It's kind of like 'git push' that way.
