Instead of standard branch/tags/trunk, it has those\ndirectories multiply nested, e.g.:\n\nA/\nA/branches\nA/branches/B\nA/branches/B/branches\nA/branches/B/tags\nA/branches/B/trunk\nA/tags/tag-1/branches\nA/tags/tag-1/tags/B/branches\nA/tags/tag-1/tags/B/tags\nA/tags/tag-1/tags/B/trunk\nA/tags/tag-1/trunk\nA/trunk\n\netc.\n\nGiven multiple projects that are nested as such, is there a way to get git-svn\nto import the tree and be able to derive the tags and branches?  Also, this\ntree is a little over 1TiB in size, though a large chunk of that is due to\nthe duplicates made by SVN's branches/tags.\n\nThanks,\n\n-- DN\nDaniel N.\n"},{"id":"145647","messageId":"201007151250.32974.wjl@icecavern.net","threadId":"24409","inReplyTo":"20100715171849.GA31823@heretic.net-ronin.org","subject":"Re: git-svn question","fromName":"Wesley J. Someone may have better advice, but I'd \nprobably approach it by doing one or more of the following:\n\n  1) Fix it up with svndumpfilter first to get rid of useless or duplicated \nparts, then import it.\n\n  2) Once imported into use git rebase and/or git filter-branch to clean \nthings up until it's how you like it.\n\n  3) If all else fails, archive the SVN repository (or the git imported \nequivalent), call it \"old history\", and then start over and manually import \nonly the active and useful branches and tags into git.\n"}]}
