I was able to share my server/public bare repository over\nssh and http, but now client/private repositories are unable to push\ntheir changes. Would really appreciate any help on configuring both\nSSH and HTTP. And not sure why my SSH is not updating/pushing changes\nto server, as it did before. Any pointers on where I went wrong?\n\nHere is what I did:\n\n[server - public]\n* On CentOS5 - Git 1.7.1 server:\n  -- Initialize bare git repo\n\n[client - private SSH]\n * From another Debian VM:\n  -- Create git repo\n  --  Add remote origin ssh://user@centos5/var/gitpubrepos/test\n  -- git push origin master\n\n[server - public]\n * Then I changed HTTP conf to enable DAV for this directory.\n\n[client - private HTTP] - May be I should have cloned the repo here\nrather than pull?\n * git init\n   Initialized empty Git repository in /ncs/tempgit-http/.git/\n *  git remote add origin http://centos5/git/fifa\n *  git pull\n     fatal: http://centos5/git/fifa/info/refs not found: did you run\ngit update-server-info on the server?\n\n[server - public]\n  * git update-server-info\n\n\n[client - private HTTP]\n  * git pull origin master\n    From http://centos5/git/fifa\n    branch            master     -> FETCH_HEAD\n    (Got all files)\n\n\n[client-private HTTP]\n  * Make some changes and try to push: git push\n  * git push\n    Fetching remote heads...\n    refs/\n    refs/tags/\n    refs/heads/\n    'refs/heads/master': up-to-date\n\n [client-private SSH]\n  * git push\n     = [up to date]      master -> master\n     updating local tracking ref 'refs/remotes/origin/master'\n     Everything up-to-date\n\n-----\n\nThanks,\nCS.\n"},{"id":"144259","messageId":"AANLkTilui6O9dNk1D5BaIFZUVKi2ByuYeMw0hkfxVRcn@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"24197","inReplyTo":"AANLkTimc_T6qS5zVo92F8lw7hNPFp-9BhLP_g4ojntlZ@mail.gmail.com","subject":"Re: git config over http and ssh went wrong","fromName":"Carlos S","fromEmail":"neubyr@gmail.com","sentAt":"2010-06-25T18:08:44Z","receivedAt":"2010-06-25T18:08:44Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"neubyr@gmail.com","avatar":null},"body":"It's working fine.
