This ties in with the work on spare/narrow\ncheckouts/clones, which seems to have stagnated.\n\n-- \nCheers,\n\nSverre Rabbelier\n"},{"id":"144264","messageId":"20100625202738.GA3696@atjola.homenet","threadId":"24195","inReplyTo":"AANLkTilyvCWyWzqPGxtg9tkRM5SjXxbt50P5zImlxCHD@mail.gmail.com","subject":"Re: FR: Clone just the desired subdirectory","fromName":"Björn Steinbrink","fromEmail":"b.steinbrink@gmx.de","sentAt":"2010-06-25T20:27:38Z","receivedAt":"2010-06-25T20:27:38Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"b.steinbrink@gmx.de","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/230962?v=4"},"body":"On 2010.06.25 16:24:52 +0200, Laszlo Papp wrote:\n> Is there a way to clone\n> git://git.openembedded.org/openembedded/recipes/qt4, not the whole\n> repository ?\n\nHere you ask for a subdirectory clone.\n\n> My friend asked it from me, but I couldn't advise anything to him, but\n> this request does make sense by me. The latter can\nalready be handled by git archive:\n\ngit archive --remote=<repo> <tree-ish>\n\nFor example:\n\ngit archive --remote=git://localhost/some/repo.git HEAD:some/directory\n\ngit-daemon just doesn't allow it by default, you need to enable the\nupload-archive service.\n\nBjörn\n"}]}
