The filesytem contains the files we can\naccess to when mounted to the virtual filesytem (begining at \"/\").\n\nWhile using user application which works on usual files (like git does),\nwe don't care about the underlying local hard drive device (\"/dev/sda\"\nhere).\n\nYou can safely forget all the \"/dev/<something>\" things here.\n\n> I made some tries, put my repo in /home/user/myrepo cloned in\n> /home/user/myclones changed files and committed and the changes was in\n> the repo without any need of pulling, and i have permission to write\n> to /dev/sda6, so why have i to pull changes?\n\nWith the above in mind, could you please try to rephrase your problem\n(and maybe provide a basic use case with the commands to reproduce it) ?\n\n-- \nNicolas Sebrecht\n"},{"id":"141905","messageId":"AANLkTikDmfiUwhn2wQNVkhTVMUpv2pyp5pU5OvmfzM-T@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"23834","inReplyTo":"AANLkTimLZgkojC5L0ZdDewhprLgehLw2w4EZDwyViF4R@mail.gmail.com","subject":"Re: git pull","fromName":"hasen j","fromEmail":"hasan.aljudy@gmail.com","sentAt":"2010-05-19T11:03:18Z","receivedAt":"2010-05-19T11:03:18Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"hasan.aljudy@gmail.com","avatar":"https://gravatar.com/avatar/47314b4bfcc6ba6685a811d9697fe60e90602acec0e24b9bf48bd0a97307f7c2?d=mp&s=160"},"body":"On 17 May 2010 15:51, matteo brutti <webmbackslash@gmail.com> wrote:\n> Hi,\n> i'm learning about git and soon have a question.\n> My repo is in /dev/sda6 and my home is in /dev/sda4, as are both in\n> local i thought that when i committ, i'll found the files on repo\n> changed, it was not so! This won't affect what files you\nhave checked out though. It would just mean that you won't need to\n\"fetch\", because the objects are already there.\n"}]}
