It errors, that it could not unlink \nsome files. So I checked the properties - all files are readable.\n\nI repeated the gc in git bash with the following results.\n\n$ git gc\nCounting objects: 398, done.\nCompressing objects: 100% (205/205), done.\nWriting objects: 100% (398/398), done.\nTotal 398 (delta 191), reused 398 (delta 191)\nrm: cannot unlink `pack-6f07bacdef764f32f12af14877b307d2cb36a1e4.pack': \nPermission denied\nrm: cannot unlink `pack-6f07bacdef764f32f12af14877b307d2cb36a1e4.idx': \nPermission denied\nrm: cannot unlink `pack-cba55771937a4549af73c09c17b10cfceb1320df.pack': \nPermission denied\nrm: cannot unlink `pack-cba55771937a4549af73c09c17b10cfceb1320df.idx': \nPermission denied\nRemoving duplicate objects: 100% (256/256), done.\n\nIan@MARS /d/websites/SOPSystem (master)\n$ git version\ngit version 1.7.0.2.msysgit.0\n\nNote - this is Windows XP so there are no permissions on the files. The \nfiles are all local.\n\nI even disabled AVG and tried again. Same result.\n\nWhat is going on? and does it matter?\n\nA thought - I copy/pasted (not cloned) the whole repo from a Samba share \n(presented by Ubuntu) about 2 weeks ago. Could it be something left\nover from that?
