Attached is sample output from one of my directories under subversion souce control.\n\nNow, that statement is about as true as Tomas' about \"all\" people's\nsvn-cluelessness here ;)\n\nsvn list [URL[@REV]] lists the files and directories of the repo URL at\nrevision rev, rev defaulting to the head revision, URL defaulting to the\nrepo URL of \".\".\n\nSo, even without URL, it does not look at the files and folders of the\ncurrent directory at all (besides .svn to find the repo URL). In\nparticular, it does not tell you anything about untracked files and is\n(by itself) useless for figuring out what to add. svn status is used for\nthat. Instead, svn list tells you which files and folders are under\nversion control at \".\" in the repo, but not limited to the the contents\nof your cwd.\n\ngit ls-files does what svn list (without URL) does, and more. But git\nstatus [-s] may be what you are really looking for, if you're interested\nin tracked versus untracked files.\n\nNow, svn list URL is something that git does not really do, because it\ntries to do as much as possible locally, not on the server side. But\nthat is not the svn list incantation you asked about ;)\n\nCheers,\nMichael\n"},{"id":"140111","messageId":"w2yadf1fd3d1004220156z7d382275tad5a8839a4c7c087@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"23561","inReplyTo":"20100421222237.1758ca66@pennie-farthing","subject":"Re: GIT counterpart to \"svn list\"","fromName":"Santi Béjar","fromEmail":"santi@agolina.net","sentAt":"2010-04-22T08:56:46Z","receivedAt":"2010-04-22T08:56:46Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"santi@agolina.net","avatar":null},"body":"On Thu, Apr 22, 2010 at 5:22 AM, Jack Desert <jackdesert556@gmail.com> wrote:\n>\n> I'm new to GIT, and the one command I can't live without is:\n>  svn list\n> Is ther a GIT couterpart to svn list?\n\nYou could check the Git - SVN Crash Course:\n\nhttp://git.or.cz/course/svn.html\n\nHTH,\nSanti\n"},{"id":"140118","messageId":"m2r81b0412b1004220344j3101d7e6n7b2e9a017500db61@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"23561","inReplyTo":"4BCFFDC7.4050205@drmicha.warpmail.net","subject":"Re: GIT counterpart to \"svn list\"","fromName":"Alex Riesen","fromEmail":"raa.lkml@gmail.com","sentAt":"2010-04-22T10:44:20Z","receivedAt":"2010-04-22T10:44:20Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"raa.lkml@gmail.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/324101?v=4"},"body":"On Thu, Apr 22, 2010 at 09:41, Michael J Gruber\n<git@drmicha.warpmail.net> wrote:\n> git ls-files does what svn list (without URL) does, and more.
