I believe I've fixed the problem.\n\nI thought we were running 1.6.5.5, but apparently our libexec was\npointing to an older version.  Once I corrected that, the error\nwent away.\n\nOur repositories are hosted on an NFS file server, and the repo\nthat had the problem has some large binary fpga images in it.\n\nLooking on the net, it seems that there was a problem with pread\nreturning part of a file.  I see that the new code does the pread\nin a loop to work around this.  So I'm guessing that the old version\nwe were running didn't have the pread workaround and was therefore\nfailing.  Anyway, it is behaving now.\n\n\tThanks very much for replying,\n\tSteve\n\n>  - How long before the error occurs i.e. how many objects are received\n>    (and the transfer size) before the error?\n> \n> \n> Nicolas\n> \n\n\n-- \nA: Because it makes the logic of the discussion difficult to follow.\nQ: Why shouldn't I top post?\nA: No.\nQ: Should I top post?\n"}]}
