You can get it at\n\n\thttp://repo.or.cz/w/girocco.git\n\n You guessed right, Girocco is the software repo.or.cz runs at;\nhowever, compared to the past, it's much cleaned up, cleanly packaged\nfor easy re-deployment and fully configurable, thanks to sponsorship\nof Novartis and Novell. (Apologies for switching repo.or.cz to it and\nreleasing it one year later than it should've been done.)\n\n Thus, you should be able to easily deploy a local Girocco instance\nat your site and configure it to do only what you want. Girocco allows\nboth full push-based project hosting, or just mirroring and showing\nexisting projects (either local or remote) - i.e. you can also use it\njust to collect scattered repositories of your developers and present\nthem all at single place. The push-based hosting offers currently two\nmodels, chroot hosting and hooks-based permissions (for trusted\nenvironments) - it should be easy to add other models.\n\n This way, Girocco might present an interesting alternative to\nGitorious for people who prefer mirroring over full project hosting,\nprefer then rawer gitweb interface ;-), like the repo.or.cz simple\nforking model or want to make use of the GitHub-like flexible\ncommit notifications mechanism.\n\n (If you are actually going to deploy Girocco somewhere, it's good to\ntell me so that I can take it into account to e.g. provide upgrade paths\nfor future Girocco changes.)\n\n If you are used to repo.or.cz, what's new in Girocco at the user's\nend?\n\n * Friendlier homepage.\n\n * Friendlier project/user management interface.\n\n * Friendlier mirror cloning process (you can see the progress in your\n browser).\n\n * Support for automatic Git mirroring of SVN repositories.\n\n * Support for new-commit notifications, both for push and mirror\n project modes:\n\t* Get a notification to specified mail address(es)\n\t* Get a notification by receiving a POST HTTP request with\n\t GitHub-compatible JSON payload\n\t* Have repo.or.cz send commit notifications to the CIA\n\t service [http://cia.vc/]\n\n * Much easier to contribute a change to Girocco if you are missing\n any feature on repo.or.cz!\n\n Well, have fun!\n\n-- \n\t\t\t\tPetr \"Pasky\" Baudis\nA lot of people have my books on their bookshelves.\nThat's the problem, they need to read them. -- Don Knuth\n"},{"id":"127316","messageId":"4AFA9A1E.5050107@drmicha.warpmail.net","threadId":"21564","inReplyTo":"20091110104027.GI17748@machine.or.cz","subject":"Re: [ANNOUNCE] Girocco hosting infrastructure v1.0","fromName":"Michael J Gruber","fromEmail":"git@drmicha.warpmail.net","sentAt":"2009-11-11T11:03:58Z","receivedAt":"2009-11-11T11:03:58Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"git@grubix.eu","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/233215?v=4"},"body":"Petr Baudis venit, vidit, dixit 10.11.2009 11:40:\n> Hello!\n>\n> I would like to announce Girocco-1.0, the first stable release of\n> a universal Git project hosting infrastructure.
