We found it quite hard to use\nwithout good knowledge of git's internals and technical concepts.\nThe api which is documented by examples at\nhttp://www.eqqon.com/index.php/GitSharp/Examples\nencapsulates and abstracts this knowledge so that everyone with a\nlittle git experience can easily make use of the library.\n\nThe improvements mentioned above allow to add files to the index and\ncommit them. It is as easy as this:\n\n   var repo = Repository.Init(\"path/to/new/repo\");\n\nNow suppose you have created some files in the new repository and want\nto stage them for committing:\n\n   repo.Index.Add(\"README\", \"License.txt\");\n   var commit=repo.Commit(\"My first commit with gitsharp\", new Author\n(\"henon\", \"meinrad.recheis@gmail.com\"));\n\nEasy, isn't it? Now let's have a look at the changes of this commit:\n\n   foreach(var change in commit.Changes) Console.WriteLine\n(change.Name + \" \" + change.ChangeType);\n\nOf course there is still much work to do until this new API will\ncompletely reflect the full range of git interactions a standard\napplication is probably going to need. We hope to quickly build up the\nmost important parts until the end of the year. If you check it out,\nplease give us feedback which will be greatly appreciated.\n\nDownload Gitsharp 0.2 binaries from\nhttp://www.eqqon.com/index.php?title=GitSharp/v0.2.0\n\nHave a nice day,\n--Henon 21:22, 28 October 2009 (CET)\n"}]}
