{"thread":{"id":"21153","subject":"[Gitweb-caching][RFC] Major updates - kernel.org updated","startedAt":"2009-10-08T04:51:57Z","lastAt":"2009-10-08T08:26:40Z","messageCount":2,"participants":["J.H.","Kris Shannon"],"isPatch":false,"patchVersion":null,"patchTotal":null},"messages":[{"id":"124360","messageId":"4ACD6FED.4080308@kernel.org","threadId":"21153","inReplyTo":null,"subject":"[Gitweb-caching][RFC] Major updates - kernel.org updated","fromName":"J.H.","fromEmail":"warthog9@kernel.org","sentAt":"2009-10-08T04:51:57Z","receivedAt":"2009-10-08T04:51:57Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"warthog9@kernel.org","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/2334704?v=4"},"body":"Evening everyone,\n\nThought I'd give a heads up that I finally sat down and did some major \nupdates to my version of the gitweb caching code (as opposed to Lea's, \nwhich I still have plans to integrate with mine in the near future).\n\nThat said this brings the base up to mainline, which is about a 2 or 3 \nyear jump in code, it updates a number of elements in the caching engine \n  itself and I went ahead and ripped out the file breakout that I had \ndone initially.\n\nNew things known to work:\n\t- Snapshots are fully working, and passing through the caching\n\t  engine\n\t- Binary files now output correctly when your using blob_plain,\n\t  this is also passing correctly through the caching engine.\n\nI'm sure there is a plethora of other things that have been fixed or broken.\n\nSo I'm going to re-open the can of worms over caching again, and see \nwhat it would take to get this merged into mainline.
