Then there will be created a \nshortlog from the last point it was created until master without stuff in \nmaint (or reachable by maint? I am not sure about that one).\n\nReal nice idea to create an overview about changes in a repository for writing \na releasenotes. But how is it real used by the maintainer? My current idea \nwould be: Open the editor an copy the snipped. Open a terminal, switch to the \nrepository and go paste the snipped into it. After that the terminal has to be \nclosed as it isn't really useful anymore. An extra editor will be used to open \n/var/tmp/1 and now the first step is to replace \"O=v1.6.4.1-266-g235db15\" with \na new id at the first line in /var/tmp/1. Now the maintainer has to order all \ncommits a little bit and write the release notes. After he finished it, he \njust commits it to master and is finished for this period of time.\nIs this real how it is done in git.git or is there maybe something I don't see \nright now?\n\nBest regards,\n\tResul Cetin\n"},{"id":"123522","messageId":"7veiq27ekz.fsf@alter.siamese.dyndns.org","threadId":"21002","inReplyTo":"200909192357.32369.Resul-Cetin@gmx.net","subject":"Re: shell commands in ReleaseNotes","fromName":"Junio C Hamano","fromEmail":"gitster@pobox.com","sentAt":"2009-09-19T22:30:04Z","receivedAt":"2009-09-19T22:30:04Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"gitster@pobox.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/54884?v=4"},"body":"Resul Cetin <Resul-Cetin@gmx.net> writes:\n\n> Real nice idea to create an overview about changes in a repository for writing \n> a releasenotes.
