Lots of hype on\nthe web page, but a tool from the early 1980s that still can't\ndo anything useful.  Hell, it might be a rebranded PVCS VM.\n\nNo, there aren't any existing import tools from TC, in fact probably\nnobody here has even heard of TC before.  You are on your own to\nwrite an import tool.\n\nYou might want to look at using git-fast-import to handle the git\nside of the conversion, but you'll need to write your own script\nto mine the data out of TC and format it for git-fast-import.\nLook at contrib/fast-import for some examples, and the fast-import\nman page is rather extensive.\n\n-- \nShawn.\n"},{"id":"117291","messageId":"h2f56j$alt$1@ger.gmane.org","threadId":"19978","inReplyTo":"20090630144128.GR11191@spearce.org","subject":"Re: Team Coherence to Git conversion","fromName":"Graeme Geldenhuys","fromEmail":"graemeg@gmail.com","sentAt":"2009-07-01T08:00:29Z","receivedAt":"2009-07-01T08:00:29Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"graemeg@gmail.com","avatar":"https://gravatar.com/avatar/fdaae0cf0a07bd33782720fb37ae0450f504d4e04c57c6e8f3517d11d503fdc6?d=mp&s=160"},"body":"Shawn O. Lots of hype on\n\nTeam Coherence was quite popular with the Delphi developers, seeing that\nit was written in Delphi (Object Pascal). Anyway, looking at it even\ncompared to Subversion, it is a weird way of doing revision control.\nRevisions are based on a per file basis and not as an atomic commit\n(snapshot of whole repository status) like SubVersion or Git does. If\nyou wanted a snapshot of a point in time of the whole repository, you\nhad to create a Label. :-(  Ideas change over time I guess. :-)\n\n\n> nobody here has even heard of TC before. I'll read\nup on that a bit later.\n\n\nRegards,\n  - Graeme -\n\n-- \nfpGUI Toolkit - a cross-platform GUI toolkit using Free Pascal\nhttp://opensoft.homeip.net/fpgui/\n"}]}
