It seems that you have to have\npulled your git repository from p4 originally in order for it to work?\n\nThis is the kind of thing I have typically been trying  \n\ngit-p4 clone //depot/firmware/fred/bloggs.git\n\n(//depot/firmware/fred/bloggs.git is a folder synced to an empty p4\nrepository)\n\ncd bloggs\n\n(there is now an empty git repository here)\n\nIf I then pull from a git repository into the newly created bloggs.git\nand do git-p4 submit \n\nI get...\n\nSyncronizing p4 checkout...\n... - file(s) up-to-date.\nApplying 0b666f81da14bf46cada222856762f7fd6641c26 Initial revision\n\nfatal: ambiguous argument '0b666f81da14bf46cada222856762f7fd6641c26^':\nunknown revision or path not in the working tree.\nUse '--' to separate paths from revisions\nCommand failed: git diff-tree -r\n\"0b666f81da14bf46cada222856762f7fd6641c26^\"\n\"0b666f81da14bf46cada222856762f7fd6641c26\"\n\n\nI have tried to checkout pre-existing files from P4, change them in git\nand put them back and that works fine.\n\nI am using the git 1.6.3.1.fc9 rpms with the git-p4 taken from the\ngit-1.6.3.1 source tree.\n\n\nThanks for your help\n\nSteve\n"}]}
