people indicating me where\nto look from here. I understand that this might not be a very common\nscenario: after all git is in part about having local copies of the\ncode and pushing to servers. Yet I find it very practical to edit the\nremote files with the local tools I know and be able to use the\nchanges immediately on the server, and for this, a file system share\nis a very good solution. The server is within a windows infrastructure\nand Samba was simpler to setup than NFS (I don't have the same user ID\non both machines and none can be easily changed) so overall it made\nsense to use Samba.\n\nThanks in advance for your help,\n\nJiHO\n---\nhttp://maururu.net\n"},{"id":"116500","messageId":"46a038f90906171345n5a248d1bl253bc49baa819cd8@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"19634","inReplyTo":"3dfcd29f-a1cd-4007-b962-2cf5156ab708@g19g2000yql.googlegroups.com","subject":"Re: Issues with file status over samba","fromName":"Martin Langhoff","fromEmail":"martin.langhoff@gmail.com","sentAt":"2009-06-17T20:45:25Z","receivedAt":"2009-06-17T20:45:25Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"martin.langhoff@gmail.com","avatar":"https://gravatar.com/avatar/1e3f311b6c4c15836501901ca58f8c0b0667246488084ba524d8bc9867e22fd9?d=mp&s=160"},"body":"On Wed, Jun 17, 2009 at 8:51 PM, jiho<jo.lists@gmail.com> wrote:\n> This is not an issue of clock differences betweent eh two computer\n> because setting the time on the server to -1h does not help.\n\nHow about having ntp running on both?\n\ncheers,\n\n\n\nm\n-- \n martin.langhoff@gmail.com\n martin@laptop.org -- School Server Architect\n - ask interesting questions\n - don't get distracted with shiny stuff - working code first\n - http://wiki.laptop.org/go/User:Martinlanghoff\n"},{"id":"116502","messageId":"35827F07-E0F2-40BD-B954-7E24CE24D004@gmail.com","threadId":"19634","inReplyTo":"46a038f90906171345n5a248d1bl253bc49baa819cd8@mail.gmail.com","subject":"Re: Issues with file status over samba","fromName":"JiHO","fromEmail":"jo.lists@gmail.com","sentAt":"2009-06-17T20:58:17Z","receivedAt":"2009-06-17T20:58:17Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"jo.lists@gmail.com","avatar":null},"body":"On 2009-June-17 , at 16:45 , Martin Langhoff wrote:\n> On Wed, Jun 17, 2009 at 8:51 PM, jiho<jo.lists@gmail.com> wrote:\n>> This is not an issue of clock differences betweent eh two computer\n>> because setting the time on the server to -1h does not help.\n>\n> How about having ntp running on both?\n\nIt does already (the server is Ubuntu Linux running ntp, my machine is \na MacBook synchronizing with Apple's time servers).
