And yellow writing is not very\nreadable on bright background. Of course, I could customize color 3 at\nthe terminal letter to be darker, but that breaks everything else that\nuses color 3 as a background highlight (vim, ack, etc.)\n\nI've scoured the man pages, but haven't found any way to set the color\nfor that line in .gitconfig.\n\nSo, I suggest that this should be considered a bug. At the very least,\nthere should be an easy way to set that color for all us using a\nbright background terminal - the default Gnome Terminal, the default\nTerminal.app, and generally the default on many systems.\n\nIs there any good solution for this that I missed?\n\nThanks,\n\nFynn\n"},{"id":"109248","messageId":"7vmybavbg9.fsf@gitster.siamese.dyndns.org","threadId":"18513","inReplyTo":"1a04eebf0903241416g67e7abfdh6b3aa746f12b0e83@mail.gmail.com","subject":"Re: Default color for commit hash in git-log is unreadable on bright background, and can't be changed.","fromName":"Junio C Hamano","fromEmail":"gitster@pobox.com","sentAt":"2009-03-24T21:48:54Z","receivedAt":"2009-03-24T21:48:54Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"gitster@pobox.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/54884?v=4"},"body":"Fyn Fynn <fynfynn@gmail.com> writes:\n\n> Unfortunately, the default text foreground color for the \"commit\n> <HASH>\" line of git-log is 3 - yellow.\n> ...\n> Is there any good solution for this that I missed?\n\nPerhaps...\n\n$ git config color.diff.commmit cyan\n"},{"id":"109251","messageId":"1a04eebf0903241507i46d8eda0o1b75702073a88c96@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"18513","inReplyTo":"7vmybavbg9.fsf@gitster.siamese.dyndns.org","subject":"Re: Default color for commit hash in git-log is unreadable on bright background, and can't be changed.","fromName":"Fyn Fynn","fromEmail":"fynfynn@gmail.com","sentAt":"2009-03-24T22:07:44Z","receivedAt":"2009-03-24T22:07:44Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"fynfynn@gmail.com","avatar":null},"body":"Thanks a lot, Junio.
