I added that as a remote\non the previously mentioned repo.\n\n $ git remote show sandbox\n * remote sandbox\n URL: /cygdrive/f/Documents/git.git/\n Tracked remote branch\n master\n\nWhen I do a `git push sandbox master` I get the following\n\n $ git push sandbox master\n Everything up-to-date\n\nThe problem is here. Now that I have a supposedly up to date copy on\nmy thumb drive, I'd like to be able to push it out to a central server\non our Sandbox network. However, when I do a git clone, tags are\nmissing.\n\n $ git clone /cygdrive/f/Documents/git.git/\n Initialized empty Git repository in /home/tvishe01/Desktop/git/.git/\n Checking out files: 100% (1589/1589), done.\n\n $ cd git/\n\n $ git tag\n\n ...\n v1.6.1.3\n v1.6.2-rc0\n v1.6.2-rc1\n\nDoing the same thing in the repo connected to kernel.org I get:\n\n $ git tag\n v1.6.1.3\n v1.6.2\n v1.6.2-rc0\n v1.6.2-rc1\n v1.6.2-rc2\n\nAs you can see, v1.6.2 and v1.6.2-rc2 are missing from the repo that\nI'm pushing to on my thumb drive, despite it claiming it's up to date.\n\nWhat am I doing wrong?\n\nThanks in advance!\n\n-- \n\nIn Christ,\n\nTimmy V.\n\nhttp://burningones.com/\nhttp://five.sentenc.es/ - Spend less time on e-mail\n"},{"id":"106980","messageId":"20090304143938.GB12901@vidovic","threadId":"18129","inReplyTo":"c115fd3c0903040601xbfce200q78c53aeee0b44f2c@mail.gmail.com","subject":"Re: Strange push/clone errors","fromName":"Nicolas Sebrecht","fromEmail":"nicolas.s-dev@laposte.net","sentAt":"2009-03-04T14:39:38Z","receivedAt":"2009-03-04T14:39:38Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"nicolas.s-dev@laposte.net","avatar":null},"body":"\nOn Wed, Mar 04, 2009 at 09:01:51AM -0500, Tim Visher wrote:\n\n> As you can see, v1.6.2 and v1.6.2-rc2 are missing from the repo that\n> I'm pushing to on my thumb drive, despite it claiming it's up to date.\n> \n> What am I doing wrong?\n\nYou need to push the tags using the --tags option of git-push (when\npushing to your sandbox repository).\n\n-- \nNicolas Sebrecht\n"},{"id":"106990","messageId":"c115fd3c0903040937l3139ef2ey854cb8c93131384b@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"18129","inReplyTo":"20090304143938.GB12901@vidovic","subject":"Re: Strange push/clone errors","fromName":"Tim Visher","fromEmail":"tim.visher@gmail.com","sentAt":"2009-03-04T17:37:40Z","receivedAt":"2009-03-04T17:37:40Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"tim.visher@gmail.com","avatar":"https://gravatar.com/avatar/98307ce54bcac1a46b5d845827d5386e2a27895ff08790cdd3877ad527760575?d=mp&s=160"},"body":"On Wed, Mar 4, 2009 at 9:39 AM, Nicolas Sebrecht\n<nicolas.s-dev@laposte.net> wrote:\n>\n> On Wed, Mar 04, 2009 at 09:01:51AM -0500, Tim Visher wrote:\n>\n>> As you can see, v1.6.2 and v1.6.2-rc2 are missing from the repo that\n>> I'm pushing to on my thumb drive, despite it claiming it's up to date.\n>>\n>> What am I doing wrong?\n>\n> You need to push the tags using the --tags option of git-push (when\n> pushing to your sandbox repository).\n\nThank you, Nicolas! I actually discovered the `--mirror` option.\nSince that's basically what I'm trying to do, that's what I ended up\ngoing with.
