On my offline box I get the following dump:\n\n$ make install-man\nrm -f doc.dep+ doc.dep\n/usr/bin/perl ./build-docdep.perl >doc.dep+\nmv doc.dep+ doc.dep\nmake -C ../ GIT-VERSION-FILE\nmake[1]: Entering directory `/cygdrive/c/Documents and\nSettings/tvishe01/My Documents/git'\nGIT_VERSION = 1.6.2.rc1.25.g2d602e\nmake[1]: Leaving directory `/cygdrive/c/Documents and\nSettings/tvishe01/My Documents/git'\nmake[1]: Entering directory `/cygdrive/c/Documents and\nSettings/tvishe01/My Documents/git'\nmake[1]: `GIT-VERSION-FILE' is up to date.\nmake[1]: Leaving directory `/cygdrive/c/Documents and\nSettings/tvishe01/My Documents/git'\nmake -C ../ GIT-VERSION-FILE\nmake[1]: Entering directory `/cygdrive/c/Documents and\nSettings/tvishe01/My Documents/git'\nmake[1]: `GIT-VERSION-FILE' is up to date.\nmake[1]: Leaving directory `/cygdrive/c/Documents and\nSettings/tvishe01/My Documents/git'\nrm -f git-add.xml+ git-add.xml\nasciidoc -b docbook -d manpage -f asciidoc.conf \\\n                 -agit_version=1.6.2.rc1.25.g2d602e -o git-add.xml+ git-add.txt\nmv git-add.xml+ git-add.xml\nrm -f git-add.1\nxmlto -m callouts.xsl man git-add.xml\nI/O error : Attempt to load network entity\nhttp://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/xsl/current/manpages/docbook.xsl\nwarning: failed to load external entity\n\"http://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/xsl/current/manpages/docbook.xsl\"\ncompilation error: file /tmp/xmlto-xsl.f254nC line 4 element import\nxsl:import : unable to load\nhttp://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/xsl/current/manpages/docbook.xsl\nmake: *** [git-add.1] Error 1\n\nStrange thing is that I thought I had gotten these to build offline\nbefore with the exact same configuration. It's likely that your\ndocbook dtds are fine but the xsl stylesheets are either missing or\nbroken.\n\nTry looking at the docbook stylesheets (xsl in particular) packages in\nyour cygwin setup.  There should be lines like:\n\n<rewriteSystem systemIdStartString=\"http://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/xsl\n/current\" rewritePrefix=\"file:///usr/share/sgml/docbook/xsl-stylesheets-1.69.1-5\n.1\"/>\n<rewriteURI uriStartString=\"http://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/xsl/current \"rewritePrefix=\"file:///usr/share/sgml/docbook/xsl-stylesheets-1.69.1-5.1\"/>\n\nto handle the remapping you require.  This was from the\n/etc/xml/catalog file on rhel5, but it should be _similar_ on a cygwin\nsetup (my cygwin boxes aren't outfitted with the docbook toolchain so\nI can't verify for you).\n\nHTH.\n-Ben\n-- \nBen Walton\nSystems Programmer - CHASS\nUniversity of Toronto\nC:416.407.5610 | W:416.978.4302\n\nGPG Key Id: 8E89F6D2; Key Server: pgp.mit.edu\nContact me to arrange for a CAcert assurance meeting.\n"}]}
