StarTeam has this notion of file\nsharing between what they refer to as views. Basically a view in\nStarTeam can be thought of as a repository for purposes of conversion\nand it can share individual files from other views. It can then branch\nthe files as well.  Imagine, just imagine the mess of many many views\nstringing files amongst each other.   It's like a version control\nsystem designed by my four year old with a few balls of yarn strung\nall over the house.  Hideous, I know.\n\nI have avoided using StarTeam myself but others within the company are\nlooking for strategies of moving to GIT or possibly Mercurial.  My\ncrew uses Mercurial and started using GIT but we do embedded Linux for\nthe most part.\n\nAre there ways to migrate views in StarTeam to a DVCS like GIT? AFAIK, there is no converter\nalready (as in, I have never heard of one, and searching the list\narchive turns up nothing).\n\nGetting history data into git is usually easy.
