The ones  \nI looked through were cleanups to part of the TCP code (you can see  \nthem in the gist linked above).\n\nIs this normal or expected? My understanding was that a clone first  \nreceived the current HEAD and its history, and then checked out the  \ncurrent state of it as the working copy. In any case, I would have  \nexpected the repositories at git.kernel.org to be bare and as such  \nhave no working copy for uncommitted changes to be in.\n\nMy system is a Mac OS X 10.5.6 box (aluminium MacBook); some details  \nare below.\n\nThis may well be normal behaviour, but I asked about it in  \nfreenode:#git and no one had heard of it happening before.\n\nCheers\nBen Hoskings\n\n------------------------------------\n\n$ uname -a\nDarwin hat 9.6.0 Darwin Kernel Version 9.6.0: Mon Nov 24 17:37:00 PST  \n2008; root:xnu-1228.9.59~1/RELEASE_I386 i386\n\n$ which git\n/usr/local/bin/git\n\n$ git --version\ngit version 1.6.1.2\n\n$ df /\nFilesystem Size Used Avail Capacity Mounted on\n/dev/disk0s2 233Gi 213Gi 19Gi 92% /\n"},{"id":"104475","messageId":"76718490902122141h578a72e3k70366d6583d6c8c3@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"17768","inReplyTo":"3D94CDCE-88EB-479A-9D36-6B92FCFCBAF4@hoskings.net","subject":"Re: Unexpected local changes immediately after fresh clone","fromName":"Jay Soffian","fromEmail":"jaysoffian@gmail.com","sentAt":"2009-02-13T05:41:20Z","receivedAt":"2009-02-13T05:41:20Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"jaysoffian@gmail.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/155970?v=4"},"body":"On Thu, Feb 12, 2009 at 11:08 PM, Ben Hoskings <ben@hoskings.net> wrote:\n> My system is a Mac OS X 10.5.6 box (aluminium MacBook); some details are\n> below.\n\nHFS+ is case-insensitive by default. That could have taken a while to track  \ndown; I wasn't expecting anything of the sort, but retrospectively, of  \ncourse. :)\n\nThanks for your help.\n\nBen\n"}]}
