It seems preferable to use .bundle since it is more easily \nrecognized, but .bdl is nice for system that are limited to a 3 byte \nextensions.  Existing MIME types have multiple extensions.  It is unlikely Git \nis run on a system that only allows 3 bytes extensions though, most of the \nones that I'm aware of don't like 38 byte filenames.  \n\nI'm warming to this patch\n-- \nBoyd Stephen Smith Jr.                   ,= ,-_-. =.\nbss@iguanasuicide.net                   ((_/)o o(\\_))\nICQ: 514984 YM/AIM: DaTwinkDaddy         `-'(. .)`-'\nhttp://iguanasuicide.net/                    \\_/\n\n"},{"id":"103719","messageId":"alpine.DEB.1.00.0902081139280.10279@pacific.mpi-cbg.de","threadId":"17640","inReplyTo":"200902072302.36991.bss@iguanasuicide.net","subject":"Re: [PATCH] doc/bundle: Use the more conventional suffix '.bundle'","fromName":"Johannes Schindelin","fromEmail":"johannes.schindelin@gmx.de","sentAt":"2009-02-08T10:41:03Z","receivedAt":"2009-02-08T10:41:03Z","isPatch":true,"sender":{"key":"johannes.schindelin@gmx.de","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/127790?v=4"},"body":"Hi,\n\nOn Sat, 7 Feb 2009, Boyd Stephen Smith Jr. wrote:\n\n> On Saturday 07 February 2009 16:21:49 Santi Béjar wrote:\n> > Although it does not matter in general it is handled different by\n> > \"git clone\", as it removes it to make the \"humanish\" name of the\n> > new repository.\n> \n> I'm mixed on this, particularly with the increasing numbers of MySysGit \n> users we attract.\n\nWhy should that pose any problems?  We are living in the 21st century, and \neven that crappy FS called FAT knows how to handle \"extensions\" longer \nthan 3 characters.\n\nRather than making it confusing for everybody, we could drag some DOS \ntypes (kicking and screaming, probably) into their future.\n\nCiao,\nDscho\n"}]}
