Then devs could track that repo.\n> However, it appears that msysgit does not install git daemon.\n\nyou might want to look at using pushing over DAV: say, have all your\nemployees pulling from a DAV-enabled server.\n\nThe DAV protocol itself is platform-agnostic, so your server could be\nWindows or Linux or whatever. Since DAV deals with file I/O, you might\nwant to look at your security options, though I think basic access\nauthentication would be enough if your server is only accessible\nwithin your company's LAN.\n\nBy pushing over DAV, you can avoid running a git daemon. Looking at\nhow you would do this on Windows, i don't think it's advisable to do\nso.\n\nTo do this, first, you would need to have cygwin, then you have to run\n\"cygrunsrv -I\", which will install your git daemon as a Windows\nservice.\n\nAFAIK, cygrunsrv pipes stuff to git-daemon. I don't know how good this\noption is, reliablity or performance-wise.\n\nI've tried this out (somewhat limitedly) using git built on cygwin,\nwith an Apache server, though currently you would have problems if\nyour Apache was running on a Windows box (my patch to fix this is on\nits way).\n\n\n-- \nCheers,\nRay Chuan\n"},{"id":"102012","messageId":"20090126174656.GD31810@spearce.org","threadId":"17375","inReplyTo":"be6fef0d0901260944l7e128588xc560810515e5f941@mail.gmail.com","subject":"Re: Hosting from Windows XP.","fromName":"Shawn O.
