The new IO API removes the need for shell quoting and improves\nthe overall speed of loading view data. On the downside, it brings a few\nincompatibilities wrt. commands given via the environment. While the\npatch series began by being based on git's run-command.c module, the\nfinal version contains no code from git.\n\nThe release also brings a few new features, such as new identifiers for\nuse in external commands as well as a handful of bug fixes.\n\nWhat is tig?\n------------\nTig is an ncurses-based text-mode interface for git. It functions mainly\nas a git repository browser, but can also assist in staging changes for\ncommit at chunk level and act as a pager for output from various git\ncommands.\n\n - Homepage:\thttp://jonas.nitro.dk/tig/\n - Manual:\thttp://jonas.nitro.dk/tig/manual.html\n - Tarballs:\thttp://jonas.nitro.dk/tig/releases/\n - Git URL:\tgit://repo.or.cz/tig.git \n - Gitweb:\thttp://repo.or.cz/w/tig.git\n\nRelease notes\n-------------\nIncompatibilities:\n\n - Commands from the environment (e.g. TIG_MAIN_CMD) will no longer have\n access to shell features, such as subshells and variable expansion.\n The easiest way to upgrade your configuration is to put such commands\n in a script file.\n\nImprovements:\n\n - Display repository references in the sorted order: tags, heads,\n tracked remotes, remotes.\n - Add bash completion for blame.\n - Tree view: edit files of the current branch.\n - Run requests: new identifiers %(directory), %(file), and %(ref)\n - Improve responsiveness and view loading speed by using select(2).\n\nBug fixes:\n\n - Separate blame revision and file argument by \"--\" to avoid problems.\n - Main view: fix redrawing of the last commit wrt. the revision graph.\n - Fix waiting for input after executing a run request in pager mode.\n - Status & stage view: refuse to open directories and deleted files.\n - Tree view: show error when requesting blame for all non-file entries.\n - Do not draw loading views, which are not displayed.\n - Fix launching of mergetool from a subdirectory.\n\nChange summary\n--------------\nThe diffstat and log summary for changes made in this release.\n\n NEWS | 29 +\n VERSION | 2 +-\n contrib/announcement.sh | 2 +-\n contrib/tig-completion.bash | 25 +-\n manual.txt | 281 ++++---\n tig.1.txt | 6 +-\n tig.c | 1774 +++++++++++++++++++++--------------\n tigrc.5.txt | 23 +-\n 8 files changed, 1325 insertions(+), 817 deletions(-)\n\n 53\tJonas Fonseca\n\n-- \nJonas Fonseca\n"},{"id":"100434","messageId":"496E13C7.6080208@tedpavlic.com","threadId":"17156","inReplyTo":"20090113233643.GA28898@diku.dk","subject":"Re: [ANNOUNCE] tig-0.13","fromName":"Ted Pavlic","fromEmail":"ted@tedpavlic.com","sentAt":"2009-01-14T16:33:11Z","receivedAt":"2009-01-14T16:33:11Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"ted@tedpavlic.com","avatar":"https://gravatar.com/avatar/d085392370ff4c028cf17a0e81e0647744c9682fbcb36b499f31d08ef80ef569?d=mp&s=160"},"body":"Thanks for this. Where are the\nunicode ncurses.h files found on your system?\n\n> Should it make ncursesw as \n> default if detected available albeit this can be changed manually?\n\nI would prefer that the \"default\" (running make without configure) has\nas few dependencies as possible. Since the unicode version of ncurses is\nprobably more rare than the non-unicode version it is probably a bad\nidea to use ncursesw by default. However, if you use the configure\nscript ncursesw is the default, when it is available.\n\n-- \nJonas Fonseca\n"},{"id":"100602","messageId":"20090115145003.GA6938@b2j","threadId":"17156","inReplyTo":"20090115130659.GA18081@diku.dk","subject":"Re: [ANNOUNCE] tig-0.13","fromName":"bill lam","fromEmail":"cbill.lam@gmail.com","sentAt":"2009-01-15T14:50:03Z","receivedAt":"2009-01-15T14:50:03Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"cbill.lam@gmail.com","avatar":null},"body":"On Thu, 15 Jan 2009, Jonas Fonseca wrote:\n> presence of a {/usr/incude/}ncursesw/ncurses.h header.
