But why should that extra reset step be needed?\n> \n> Only that one file is involved in this recurring annoyance. Can\n> anyone figure out why, or at least reproduce the problem?\n\nIt is because commit d72fbdf01fc77628c0b837d0dd2fd564fa26ede6 \"[ARM]\nintegrator: convert to clkdev and lookup clocks by device name\" didn't\nreally _delete_ file arch/arm/mach-integrator/clock.h but only made it\nempty. So the file still exists in the repository, but with size 0.\n\nCleanup scripts within the kernel build environment however always\nconsider empty files leftover products from the build and so delete\nthem.\n\nThat's why you get this result, after cleaning up.\n\nThe file should probably just be really deleted. Adding Russell to the\nCc. ;-)\n\nAt the moment (git describe gives v2.6.29-rc1-1-gae04d14) this is the\nonly \"empty\" file in the kernel repository. We've had these cases\nbefore.\n-- \nMarco Roeland\n"},{"id":"100082","messageId":"20090112082942.GC29673@fiberbit.xs4all.nl","threadId":"17102","inReplyTo":"20090112075942.GB29673@fiberbit.xs4all.nl","subject":"Re: Recent annoying problem with Linus's git repository?","fromName":"Marco Roeland","fromEmail":"marco.roeland@xs4all.nl","sentAt":"2009-01-12T08:29:42Z","receivedAt":"2009-01-12T08:29:42Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"marco.roeland@xs4all.nl","avatar":null},"body":"On Monday January 12th 2009 at 08:59 Marco Roeland wrote:\n\n> The file should probably just be really deleted.
