Miller\" <davem@davemloft.net>\n\nwe drop the quotes around the name when we parse that and split it up into \nname and email.\n\nHowever, the list of crud characters was basically just a random list of \ncommon things that are found around names, and it didn't contain the \nbackslash character that some insane scripts seem to use when quoting \nthings. So now the kernel has a number of authors listed like\n\n\tAuthor: \\\"Rafael J. Wysocki\\ <rjw@sisk.pl>\n\nbecause the author name had started out as\n\n\tFrom: \\\"Rafael J. Wysocki\\\" <rjw@sisk.pl>\n\nand the only \"crud\" character we noticed and removed was the final \ndouble-quote at the end.\n\nWe should probably do better quote removal from names anyway, but this is \nthe minimal obvious patch.\n\nSigned-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>\n---\n ident.c |    1 +\n 1 files changed, 1 insertions(+), 0 deletions(-)\n\ndiff --git a/ident.c b/ident.c\nindex 09cf0c9..99f1c85 100644\n--- a/ident.c\n+++ b/ident.c\n@@ -121,6 +121,7 @@ static int crud(unsigned char c)\n \t\tc == '<' ||\n \t\tc == '>' ||\n \t\tc == '\"' ||\n+\t\tc == '\\\\' ||\n \t\tc == '\\'';\n }\n \n"}]}
