I believe something goes a little funny if you build as root.\nCan you try again running ./configure and (g)make as a non-root user,\nthen only (g)make install as root / under sudo etc.\n\nCheers, Mike\n"},{"id":"96886","messageId":"njxk5aj3e2d.fsf@cfl-sunray1.lanl.gov","threadId":"16482","inReplyTo":"vpq7i6q8azp.fsf@bauges.imag.fr","subject":"Re: git configure script","fromName":"Neale T. I was doing this in my Makefile:\n\n    make -C git-1.6.0.4 install\n\nInstead of this:\n\n    cd git-1.6.0.4 && make install\n\nSince the include was prefixed with \"-\", I didn't get any warnings or\nerrors about not being able to find config.mak.autogen, and it fell back\nto the default.\n\nI'm not sure using the -C option to make is \"something wrong\", but then\nagain I am apparently the first person to run into this problem, so it's\nprobably not a big deal.\n\nThanks for your help :)\n\nNeale\n"}]}
