Do you see them with ls?\n\nOne by one I would try\n\ngit status\ngit reset\ngit reset --hard\n\nin order to reconcile your index with your checkout. Are the files like COPYING present in both directory\ntrees (so git is wrong at that point of the diff) or has something\ngone wrong earlier?\n\n> Why is it so ?\n> Is there any way to overcome it ?\n> Must I run \"git clone\" on an ext3 DiskOnKey only ?\n\nI have certainly cloned onto a vfat partition with no problems,\nalthough I've always done it with a --bare clone because a lot of my\nrepos have had case sensitive filenames and I've had some problems\nwith the \"git dirent reading code reads back different case file names\nthan it wrote out and gets confused\". Educated guess: Have a look in the .git\ndirectory on each disk.
