But if there are files which\nonly differ on whitespace, git-diff produces an empty patch block\n(what's the correct name for it?) like\n\n     diff --git a/hello b/hello\n     index f2aa86d..ce01362 100644\n\nwhich git-apply refuses to apply. Is this behaviour of git-diff\nintentional or should I try to cook up a patch?\n\nAnother combination which does not for for me is --interactive and\n--whitespace for rebase:\n\n     > git rebase -i --whitespace=strip HEAD^\n     fatal: Needed a single revision\n     Invalid base\n\nIs this an implementation bug or lack of a note of incompatibility in\nthe docs?\n"}]}
