What's the \n> command line you're using, where's the svn repo?\n\nSorry, but I don't see any interesting piece of information in the output. I've\njust assumed that exit status 141 had a well-defined meaning, different from\n140, 15 and 999.\n\nThe subversion repo is company-internal and cannot be accessed from the outside.\n\nThe output (with modified strings to mask out the file names) is:\n\n> git svn fetch\nM a/b/c/d\nM a/b/c/d\nM a/b/c/d\nM a/b/c/d\nM a/b/c/d\nM a/b/c/d\nM a/b/c/d\nM a/b/c/d\nM a/b/c/d\nr4934 = abcdefghi[...]jklmnopq (trunk)\n\nNothing more. I haven't found a verbose switch for \"fetch\", either.\n\nThanks for reading\nFrederik Hohlfeld\n"},{"id":"84352","messageId":"20080722175240.GA3561@efreet.light.src","threadId":"14100","inReplyTo":"loom.20080623T145909-992@post.gmane.org","subject":"Re: exit status 141 from git-svn","fromName":"Jan Hudec","fromEmail":"bulb@ucw.cz","sentAt":"2008-07-22T17:52:40Z","receivedAt":"2008-07-22T17:52:40Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"bulb@ucw.cz","avatar":null},"body":"On Mon, Jun 23, 2008 at 15:00:41 +0000, Frederik Hohlfeld wrote:\n> Hi\n\nSorry for late reply. The\n> exit status is 141.\n> \n> What does this 141 want to tell me?\n\nUnix trivia: When process dies from a signal, it's return status (as returned\nby wait/waitpid(2) is signal_number * 256. However when bourne/POSIX shell\nsees this, it will convert it to 128 + signal_number.\n\nNow 141 - 128 = 13 and signal 13 is SIGPIPE. Process gets a SIGPIPE when it's\nwriting to a pipe (or socket) and it gets closed on the reading end, so it\nsounds like a bad redirection somewhere. Aren't you by chance redirecting the\noutput to less and than quitting that without first scrolling to the bottom?\n\n(That would be the most situation where process gets SIGPIPE -- and the very\nreason why SIGPIPE exists, so that simple commands (like cat) are simply\nstopped when nobody is interested in their output anymore).\n\n-- \n\t\t\t\t\t\t Jan 'Bulb' Hudec <bulb@ucw.cz>\n"}]}
