It has this peculiar \nlayout:\n\n$BASE/trunk/phase3 is the project trunk\n$BASE/tags/TAG_NAME/phase3 is the tag TAG_NAME\n$BASE/branches/BRANCH_NAME/phase3 is the branch BRANCH_NAME\n\n\"phase3\" is not the only directory in e.g. \nhttp://svn.wikimedia.org/svnroot/mediawiki/branches/REL1_12/ - there is \nalso an \"extensions\" directory, a snapshot of MediaWiki extensions for \nthat branch.  But those are truly separate projects with separate \ncontributors, and have to be installed in a separate place.\n\nWhen cloning other svn repositories, I saw that strange layouts can be \naccommodated by just cloning the trunk.  But in this case,\n\nI considered using git-svn like this:\n\n$ git svn http://svn.wikimedia.org/svnroot/mediawiki/ -t \ntags/phase3/ -b branches/phase3/ -T trunk/phase3/\n\nBut that wouldn't be correct, since it wouldn't actually pick up the tag \nor branch names!\n\nIs there a way to get git-svn to handle this situation?  Perhaps git-svn \nhas a \"suffix $DIR to the repository URL\" option that I missed.  If not, \nis it conceivable it could?\n\n-- Asheesh.\n\n-- \nBeauty? I read through the command-line options of the man page, \nbut not all the way down to the CONFIGURATION where this is in fact \nclearly discussed.\n\nThat solved my issue!\n\n-- Asheesh.\n\n-- \nThere's nothing very mysterious about you, except that\nnobody really knows your origin, purpose, or destination.\n"}]}
