I have a topic branch that's\nnot going into svn, but I wanted a backup.\n\nIn a directory managed by git-daemon:\n\n        server          = /usr/bin/git-daemon\n        server_args     = --inetd --export-all --base-path=/export/git\n\nI created an empty repo:\n\n  mkdir bcotton.git\n  cd bcotton.git\n  git --bare init --shared \n  git config daemon.receivepack true\n\nThen from my repo, I tried to push my work into it:\n\n  git remote add backup git://git/bcotton.git\n  git remote update backup\n  \n  git push backup <topic>\n\n  Counting objects: 108733, done.\n  Compressing objects: 100% (39375/39375), done.\n  error: pack-objects died with strange error\n  error: failed to push some refs to 'git://git.f4tech.com/bcotton.git'\n\ngit fsck --full is clean.\n\nThere is nothing from git-daemon in syslog\n\nIdeas?\n\n -Bob\n"}]}
